Yes Steveinak--- I went directly through Alco's website and they had USPS so it was reasonable shipping. Seaboard Marine's website was FedEx or UPS.

I wouldn’t use it, 2-4-C is mediocre at best. Now if you have some of the old Mercury/Quicksilver 101 Special Lube lying around I wouldn’t hesitate to use it. That stuff was great until Mercury discontinued due to the EPA. Alco all the way.
I am almost 100 % certain that special 101 was just rebranded alco. I used Special 101 for years and when they took it away from us they told us to substitute 24C instead. 24C just isn’t alco or 101 so I was happy to stumble across the alco. By the way if you buy a new Mercruiser Transom assy. The steering pin is greased with alco/101 and if you disassemble a new Bravo drive the bearing retainer nuts and shift detent ball and spring is lubricated with alco/101

I called Alco and asked if they sold their grease in 1 lb containers instead of cartridges. [ which I hate using ]. They do not . I transferred it to plastic coffee containers with screw caps. Much better for long term storage

I'm sure people feel different but I grew up with them and I still like Merc 2 4 C and OMC Triple guard as they have always worked great for me.
I did just Amazon some Alco though. I'm wrong about as often as I'm right.
