Someone has started making them- cant remember who but she is all chined up I see. Looks sharp. Old fashioned compared to all the rounded crap you see today. I love it and bet it goes like a demon with that power.
eastern boats has started making rosboro boats in the usa .they market the 22 footer as the sisu 22 .the molds used are the original sisu 22 molds. I saw an ad in soundings magazine ,which states that the sisu 22 has returned home to new Hampshire.
Back when they were first built in NH they used to outfit them with a marinized 4 cyl VW diesel engine, were said to run forever and burn almost no fuel, really wanted one.
I heard that Grey Barn Boats had a Sisu mold too. I saw a 25' Grey Barn build the other day and was really impressed with it. Classic DE lines. Do all the Sisu's have that reverse chine? I wonder what they're asking for the boat and what the beam is. Just curious.
Latest issue of Soundings has the whole story ( Noverber issue).
The Eastern Co. is making the 22' Sisu as well as Easterns, Rosborogh, Sisu and Seaway boats.
Very interesting article.
New Soundings magazine has a big article on the "Eastern Group". A write up of the company and new boat offerings. Mentioned the 22' Sisu along with 27' Eastern and 24' Rosborough.
the sisu 22 and 26's are built currently by Lowell brothers in yarmouth maine. as the Lowell 22 and 26. there website is lowellbrothers.com I used to work for them and had a 26 sisu with a 200hp Volvo and loved the thing, the 22's are awesome too!
My understanding is that Eastern owns Rosborough (and Seaway). Rosborough builds the Sisu. The Sisu drafts 4" more than my new Seaway 24 HT Sport which I'd like offshore, not so much inshore.
