Steve,

Use to see the guys working the machines off of Kodiak during P cod season. Unbelievable the way they worked. I would check with the dealer of the machines in Kodiak or with the commercial supply places in Seattle or Kodiak.

Yup i know they do it over on the rock and its popular around Homer during the winter. I need to take a ride down to Homer and check out things, its a 600 mile round trip drive for me so i've got to get the camper on the truck first. I figured with the cod fishery back there in dire straights i might be able to find a couple of machines for a good price and just mail them here.

Last winter I went out with a friend who has 3 jigging machines and after seeing them in action no one commercial fishing (providing they can afford them , not cheap) would go back to using an electramate or rod & reel.
These machines catch better than you can.
Hit a button, drops to the bottom. Slow jigs up and down. Continually adjusts to find bottom. Fish on reels up
Believe they were BJ5000
Have a pic in my phone but not sure how to upload from iPhone.

Thats the one there.
My friend modified his a bit.
The pole that comes out the top going out to the outer roller, he removed that pole and glassed up some sets of fiberglass boards about 2-3 ft long and about 3 inches wide tapering narrower towards the outer roller , kind of like planer boards that gave it some action assisting in it's jigging action.

He's got it all figured out there, huh?

I like not having to handline the fish up into the boat. I've got to start looking into if there is any quota left after the winter/spring longliners mop up most of the fish. I don't want to be out there in the winter getting my ass kicked daily.
