I asked about him in the hurricane thread. Last thing he said here was he was going to ride out the storm on his boat.... Radio silence since then. Hope he made out okay!
Hello Guys,I would like to thank everyone for thinking of me....I road the storm out on the boat..it was a crazy nite..never saw the water so hi in the bay....but I was blessed and made out good....the town of island park is destroyed....if you had your boat on land it most likely got some sort of damage...my old 36 wayne beal is in a parking lot of a old nite club on its side...she ripped out all her poles and docks and is keeled over...my other buddy lost a 34 webbers...that is sticking staight up in the air...we have no power down here but when I do I will post some pictures...all of are trucks and cars are gone...I had bare min insurance so I get nothing for my truck...but I just wanted to let u guys know iam alive......thank you again...Mike...F/V Laura S.
Hey mike, I talked to Rick last night. Bad news down there, he sent me a picture of the rp on its side. I threw up in my mouth a little...... Glad you made it ok.
I hear its a mess down there... I tried to pull my boat out of LI this weekend to get it back to the Cape but decided to hold off because of Fire Island Inlet, floating pilings closing up the canal he is in as well as can't get diesel down there on short notice... Good luck to you guys down there...
Hey Mike, glad you are okay. You guys in the NY/CT/NJ area hae been devastated, my heart goes out to you. Donation sent today to Red Cross, seems insignificant really, but I hope it helps somehow.
Hello guys,we just got internet back here.....wanna thank Mike Tunaorlater for passing on info about me...and to his fellow workers for getting my lights back on after 4 days...my little apartment is now home base for 3 familys...God bless all of you....it looks like a war zone in Island Park...I will post some pictures of the mess later tonite.....
Mdi45: Glad hear your safe n sound. I assume you rode it out?
I did the same up here and made it without a scratch or frayed line. Knock on wood. When i returned home tuesday afternoon, i found out i was better off staying on the boat. Had power, heat, food, and tv on the boat. Home was out till this past saturday.
My prayers are going out to you guys in NY and NJ. I hope you get rebuilt soon. I had a pine tree go through my roof during Sandy. I have insurance and they are getting my house fixed before Christmas. Best wishes for a speedy rebuild.
