So the instructions are almost worthless! Does anyone know where the simnet cable with the red end goes to? I guess it goes to the simnnet bar with the yellow sockets and the other end with a red & black wire goes to the power panel? I can't figure out where the computer gets its power, there are + & - slots on the computer but i think thats for the hydro pump drive. Anybody got any ideas before i start calling wharfrat and or simrad.

If I remember correctly the computer gets its own power feed. The yellow plugs go to the sim net bar. The red plug I'm not sure about, if you don't get your answer by wensday I will check when I get home, I have the same setup.

See thats what i mean, 2 different ways of hooking the power to the computer ??? And my rudder indicator wires, grey jacket & brown & white wires, are just stripped back and go into the computer not into the simnet bar like pictured. I'll call Mr Rat tomorrow and see what he has to say then maybe a call to simrad to further confuse this polack !!.

The first diagram is how my unit is wired, then I have a ap24 for the bridge that goes directly to the simnet also.

Ok talked with both Simrad and Wharfrat this morning, both had a different way of wiring up the pilot ! So i guess it really doesn't matter that much. I did it the way WR told me to do it and it powers up and goes through the start up but the compass reading is way off from my compass, does the way the pilots compass is mounted make a difference ? I have the power cord coming out of the compass facing forward towards the bow, wonder if that would make it read wrong ?? but its a compass so it should spin correctly ? right ???

I think your right Travis, it just mounted up so easily that way, i'll make a pad for it to sit on and turn it around. In the instruction it shows it mounted with the cord any way but facing forward. The polock in me rears its ugly head again

Picked up the solenoid at the PO today, ok nice and compact so off i head to the hydraulics shop(this should be easy) Guy behind the counter looks at the helm and the solenoid and i can see the pinwheels in his eyes winding up! Try to explain what i need to do still pinwheels and tells me the boat hydro guy will be back on monday(shit). So i stop in at my friend the aluminum fabricator's shop see what he might know, he sez go see the "pig farmer" at northern fluid power:lol:, ok off i go walk into the shop nice girl at the counter sez hi and what do you need to do with that steering valve !! She actually knew what it was !! I show her the valve/helm and the solenoid tell her i need to connect them and add a couple of t's, she starts spitting part numbers out at me and is heading to the parts bins, about a hour later its all there just needed to go back to the boat for some final measurements for her to make up the hoses. Great family run business and they actually know their shit !! The dad even has a nice 69 Camero SS covered up in the shop !!
So tomorrow i'm going to glass in a nice block to bolt the solenoid to and start hooking up hoses.
Does anyone know if the A port on the solenoid is for turning right ??? and the B port for turning left ??? I know i got a 50% chance of getting it correct but though you guys might have some ideas.
