Bad day at the tractor launch !!

They launch both charter and private boats from the beach down on the kenai penninsula, yesterday wasn't a good day at the "tractor launch" site, so you get to pay 68 bucks to have your boat wrecked on the beach.

Looks a little choppy on the east side; there are youtube videos of them launching and retrieving those boats. Crazy.

A friend of mine was down there on the 17th. They forgot to latch the trailor and they dropped the boat and trailer in the surf. Took them a while to fish it back out. $68!! They were out for 10 hours and caught 3 kings and a bunch of tiny halibut.

Maybe they are breaking in some new crew? I know the business was up for sale here a year or so ago for 200K if I remember correctly. It would take a lot of 68.00 launches to pay off 200K within a very short fishing season.....

I've seen them in the Deep Creek/Anchor point area, don't remember exactly where we drove down and watched them.

I've seen it done in Nikiski. Always entertaining if it starts to blow from the southwest.

I launch my set net skiff off the Forelands point in Nikiski with my JD skidder. Are you talking about me or do you mean up at the public access point by the high school?
