Stick with your 4D Interstates 5 years is a good run. Plus your battery boxes are the correct size. I use there 4 D deep cycle marine units that have plenty of cracking power and they are very tough. I also like the add water feature. Keeping the distilled water up is very important. Every winter I make sure they are top off with water, fully charged and the negative leg is disconnected. Come spring they never need a charge.

I've been using wet cel 8D's but I will be switching to 8D AGM's. I have no beef with the wet cel batteries but my applciation makes maintenance a problem so I'm going to the AGM's (and the extra expense!)

2 8D Interstate house batts and 2 Group 31 for starter. Lots of electronics powered. Interstate is my favorite, great performance and service.

the rolls batteries do last much longer than the standard 8D.(got almost 6 years outa the last set).. BUT, the cost factor is the same per year. if you replace them with regular ones every 2 years.

What's the difference between the 4 and 8? Cranking power??

By the way MDI, I like the reverse windshield !
The 4d are a little smaller in size...and have less cranking amps....and thanks ...i went with the west coast windshield on this boat...just for a different look....its more popular up in Nova Scotia
