Are they 2 different hulls or is the 28 a lengthened version of the 25.

Has anyone ever stretched a 25 3 more feet?

If I had to guess its probably a completely different moms judging by the width.

Completely different boats. The 28's were designed from the 31's molds.

That doesnt seem logical. They narrowed a boat a foot and chopped 4ft off it? Why is it the 28 needs a box for small power and full sized diesels fit in a 31?

I had a seaway 25 coastal cruiser and a great little boat but just to small any more than two people it was crowded

Anything with a wheel house and the typical 8'6" beam is too small to fish with four or more guys (in my experience/opinion). I'd get the clear dimensions stern to house (L&W) and stern to bulkhead (L&W) and see how the boats compare. The BHM 25 might be a little beamier than 8'6" but I bet the square footage in the cockpit will push you to the 28 when you compare them.

So, the 28...

There was alcohol involved. The statement was made that someone couldn't design a 28 from the 31. A few trips to the copy machine, some scissors and a bunch of tape later...

The rest, as they say, is history

True story
