BHM 31' foot or 32' foot ?

Have a "dumb" question ? My 1989 BHM says it is 31' 7" . Would it be referred to as a 31 foot or 32 foot?

Been explained to me,
Commercial guys call it 31
rec/pleasure guys call it 32

When they haul you and power wash the bottom, and block it for the winter, It is a 31'. When you put it up for sale, it becomes a 32'.

What I figured. COD also says Otis Enterprises- Searsport. 1980. Was the Shadow. The appearance of that boat around here in the early 80's sold some others, I'm told.
