Went into West Marine $28.99 for a 16oz bottle.
Went to the resister showed the girl the product from Jamestown distributors. Same product, same 16oz bottle $13.90 from my iPhone.
I had her get a manager.
He price matched it.
I know Jamestown is making a profit @ $13.90 or they wouldn't be in business but West marine has got to be out of their minds with their profit mark up !

I think you got lucky too. I believe West stopped price matching here. And yes, they are outta their minds.

West is still matching price......I just did a oil change a hour ago and I bought Rotella 30W at Advanced Auto for 13.99 a Gal. But they only had 7.and I need 10 for a oil change.....so I went to West and they had it for 23.99 a Gal reg price..19.99 Port Supply price......I showed them the receipt and got it for 13.99.......but the guy did say it must be from a store within a 50 mile radius

That is one good thing for sure about phones now. I used to just buy crap as I needed it. Now I will sit there and look it up at other stores. I know acetone was crazy difference between a boating store and home depot, as expected.

Boibor is not going to fix your problem if it is algae. It will kill the algae and it lays in the bottom of the tank and still clogs lines, fittings ,and filters . Best stuff for that AJX fuel Treatment. AjXdirect.com You can buy direct from them.

Okay. Now that somebody has opened that door, I'll ask the obvious question. What is the best bio fighter?

What do you all suggest for fighting those nasty little critters? If you could please give some reason behind your choice.

How's that for an open ended question? I realize that for every five responses I'll get at least sever opinions. There must be one product that stands out above all the others and just plain works better.

I agree, "price match" is just an excuse to charge crazy prices the "kiss and make up" if you catch them.

if it is a new tank and installation ,it is good, putting it in an old tank will lead to a lot of filters going bad and much frustration. I have a friend who put it in an older viking. took a year to finally stop giving him fits. better off with nothing in an older tank.

That's the difference between ajx and anything else. Ajx eats the algae and turns it back into fuel. I can only speak from my experience. When I got my boat had been sitting for 3 years. Pulled algae slugs that were 4 inches long out of the filters. Treated the tanks with ajx and it cleared up the problem. I now use 2 micron filter on the racor with no problems. All other products just kill the algae and it sits in the bottom of tank and causes more problems.
