So after much thought I'm leaving the boat in the water this year. I need some advice on a block heater for my 3126 any and all help would be great. I'm finding some online but I'm not sure if there for marine applications. Thanks everyone in advance

the block heater for the 3126 is the type that mounts separate from the motor. there is a water pipe on the front lower starboard side with two pipe plugs in it, that is where you tap into.

we were told that the type that goes into a freeze plug would not work, but i'm not sure.

I highly recommend the Kelly Hotstart, good reliable unit that is thermostatically controlled. The ones that go in a freezeout plug are prone to failure and just run continuously. I have used these (hotstarts) in the last 2 boats.

Instead of block heaters and the worry of possible electrolysis I always just placed a 6" section of electric base board in the bilge. You do not need a lot of heat.
