I'm starting up an oyster farm in the next year. I'm looking for a center or side console between 18' & 22' with a good amount of work room and small draw. A lot of guys seem to use Carolina Skiffs, but I want something more seaworthy. Any thoughts? I'm looking for something used and cheap.

I'm a little biased, but you can't beat a Brockway Scow for load carying capacity with shallow draft.

How about a Lady Bug Skiff made in Plymouth, MA? You can also buy the plans or kit and make it yourself. I've heard good things about them and they take very little hp to push. I think they are better looking than the Brockway Scow too (IMHO). A lot of commercial guys on the Cape and Southcoast use them for scalloping, moorings etc.

I learn something new every day on this site.
Jmk...Im not selling my boat but its def a skinny water boat and it will hold some weight..I also reccomend the lady bug.. this is the 22 lady bug.. if you private message "bassin" on here this is his boat he had built last year.. it will go in really shallow water.. he clams and nets pogies in it.. really practical boat..

Those Ladybugs sure do look sharp!.
The farm will be in the north end of Casco Bay. The exact location is still very much up in the air- inshore though. I'll need the boat for the site selection process.

Are you looking for an open skiff or one with a Wheel house. My buddy had a Repco 21, I liked it. Keep an eye out they pop up all the time.

If you have a little time, buy the plans for the 20' Lumber Yard Skiff from Old Wharf Dory, in Welfleet and build one yourself Old Wharf Dory Co: Fishing, Work and Pleasure Skiffs and Boats . The plans are very easy to follow and you can build as cheaply, or fancy as you want. Here's my 18' LYS which I built, good luck:
