So, I have time to play now and try to figure this out. I'd like to add another 3' or so to my cabin. Basically was figuring on adding another "window" for size.

Just was wondering if I was better to just cut off the back and add everything new or to just cut at the back window, then move everything back 3' and then just fill in the middle with new material. Sort of like how we do it on ships with a mid body extension.

I think it looks better and this is a horrible Paint project on my computer...

Right now the cockpit is 17' from the bulkhead to stern, so dropping it to 14/13', which 13' was the size of my HH40, minus that had more beam.

You are better off in my book building new off the back. The angles change as you move astern so the existing pieces might not fit.

I agree with Blacktide. Trying to split the existing house and fill in the middle could become a nightmare really fast. I would cut the back out and extend what you have. Good luck with it, and lets see some demo pix when the time comes.

Cool project im sure it will turn out fine. Im assuming your gonna move back the aluminum mast as well? Also are you gonna stick with the (lexan?) for windows or are you going glass?

Agree on the angle, further back you go the rail drops... Probably could use the same winter back, just cut that out perhaps...

Windows! Plexiglass all the way...until I figure out what I'm doing... cheap and doesnt look horrible... boat is about making money, not costing money...

I was very happy to look at the books... I only did 1 trip this year were I did not get some sort of money back, aka one trip that wasnt a charter or didnt sell fish commercially...

I was thinking about going for the angle I had before on the HH40, but I think that window wouldnt look right now without the tower...
