We'll here I sit already for some late season tuna fishing, call me crazy. I noticed that for the past few days I have been the only one at the tackle stores and West Marine getting ready for another part of the season. I am usually heading back to work on ships by this time of the year or fishing Chatham I guess. This year I've decided to fish Cape Cod Bay a little bit, or more so fishing out of Sandwich up to Stellwagon and sort of where-ever else. We'll its certainly different and after a few trips setting things up I think I will be ready to start fishing this week inbetween the 30-40kt gusts. Seems like finding live bait is more of a PITA than anything else and was spoiled fishing Chatham to say the least. So I imagine the Chatham bite will go out again as I'm not there! Just wondering if anyone else is chasing them or just to keep other people updated.

I will give you that it did not look to bad this morning but you should get some props for sitting out there in this crap today. There were a few taken yesterday.

Have you been out there?

I stayed there until 2pm, maybe a bit before, then came back to Sandwich, not bad came back at a 14kt cruise in a following stern quarter. Canal was interesting to say the least combined with going to 1/4 or less vis. and a tug and barge coming out. Some pretty large long breaking waves there today. I do not mind coming back in a following sea. I only heard one fish this morning, some guy stuck it with a dart with a too short of a line and he took the ball with him after he chaffed the leader off. Glad I moved mine to 300' which is overkill in a sense but that is my inshore anchor setup, moved to 600ft to anchor out there.

Yeah I've been out there. Not today though. We've been getting our hook ups but I still don't like bay fishing that much. Pretty much the only thing going right now.

I like the bay in regards to its 20 miles from the dock, not 55 fishing the BB or something like that... short run, can be protected at times... I can still count times I have fished Cape Cod Bay for tuna on one hand... tomorrow that will change if I go, but that 30kt gust bit... Any good dockage this time of year in Provincetown?
