The boat on eBay is a 280Sport model. It was their bear bones "commercial model". There were only 18 280Sports built. I had a 1988 280Sport built and it was maybe the only one customized at the factory and after. PM me with your phone number and a time to call you and I will be glad to talk to you. Thanks for the reply Frigate. I'm not in the market right now, but the boat sparked my interest. Can you tell us if your experience with the boat was a positive one? Good in a head sea? How's the following sea?

Çape Dory made four models of this boat: fly bridge, hardtop, fisherman and sport, and offered three engines: a 100 HP Westerbeke, a 200 HP Volvo,and a 275 HP Chrysler gasser. They ride nice (although wet) in heavy chop.

Cape dory 28

I sold my cd28 flybridge this past summer and bought at 38 holland. The cd was a great boat. Beautiful finish inside. Nice lines. A little rolely on a beam sea. Rounded chines. I had the gas Chrysler which ran great, was quiet and didn't smoke which the volvos can. Expanding family. Wanted more room. Love the holland. You won't go wrong with the cape dory. There is a cd blog. Google cape dory 28 power and you'll find it. Good luck
