I am pretty sure the seller is a boat buyer/broker of some sort. Name is Bryce. I've seen him on tht selling boats under a couple of screen names.

He has it on tht and it sys "if not sold boat will be moved to fl. and no longer for sale" on the nb it said "if not sold boat will be brought fron fl to ct and no longer for sale" I guess that's a good sales tactic?

Its sad to see people BEGGING for their boats to be sold here. You need to understand that some of these boats are a ONE OFF and it scares the rest of the world... They can't seem to understand why it didnt sell at their price. All these boats are truly sold only at what a buyer is willing to pay.

I dont remember... but I have history with the seller.....Wont say the history on a public forum though (dont believe in badmouthing when the other party isn't there to defend)....All I will say is that I know he has multiple Screen Names and for some reason hides the fact that he flips boats.....Nothing wrong with doing that just makes you look Shady if you try and hide it IMO...Or maybe this isn't one of his broker boats...

This is the guys website so maybe he really did look to own the boat for a long time but is getting out or just wanted something different? But one of his emails is [email protected] lol

Not for nothing but the boats on sale on Athearn as well. Weird.

Back to the 31 BHMs in general.

Not bad looking boats.
I think the "Mary D" out of Bridge Marina Salisbury Ma, looks VERY nice in the water.

I understand the 31 BHMs carry a ton of weight safely, plow through any sea safely but have cruise speeds of a "barge" compared to other 30-34 DE hulls no matter what the power.

I don't want to seem harsh with the description, but...........?

The cruise speed statement is accurate, but that slower cruise speed is maintained no matter what the conditions are.
We would get passed in the morning by the faster boats, and then in the afternoon when it got crappy out we would be passing those same boats because they couldn't maintain their speed in the slop.

Just look at one when its out of the water, they are kinda big :D I always liked those hulls they reminded me of water loving tanks !! Never rode on one but i'm sure they are great riding no matter what the weather. I will tell ya i like my little H&H better than my old Henriques and just about nothing scared me in that boat.

owned one for years and lugged some weight with it. they are great if you are happy with 300-400 HP and 14-16 knots and if you have the lower HP you want a 2.5/1 gear so you can spin the larger wheel and be less affected by load
i miss it, it was a little tank

I'm new to this site and have been doing a lot of reading and following what you guys say about DE boats and have learned a LOT!!! I have a question on this topic...the Seaworthy is the same hull as the BHM is my understanding... have they changed something about the hull? the reason I ask is that it seems they advertise greater speeds than what you are referencing here..

Two clarify.

The 25 Seaworthy is the original 25 BHM. The mold is owned by Steve Law.
28 Seaworthy, same deal, original 28 BHM mold owned by Steve Law.

The 32 Seaworthy marked by Steve law is the 32 H&H hull. Steve and H&H worked out a "marketing deal". Steve promotes and builds the 32 Seaworthy, it is the 32 H&H.
H&H promote and build their 32 H&H.

The 31 BHM hull is totally different from the Seaworthy/H&H hull.
And the 31 BHM is not owned by Steve Law.

I believe Atlantic Boat in Brooklin still has the molds for the 31/32, 36 and 39 BHMs. They aren't advertised on the site but I bet if you call they will build you one.

I thought there was a 32' BHM in Chatham that cruised at 20kts back in the 90's. Was involved in an unfortunate accident with a Hatteras off the point of Monomoy in about '95 or '96. Those BHM hulls definitely don't like (or can't) go fast though. If that boat did do 20, that would be about as fast as it could go. Likes the engine waaaay forward, pushes a lot of water.

AHH! that clears that up thanks.

I contacted the guy and got a few more pics. He claims the boat was a commercial tuna and groundfish boat. He also says it cruises 13 knots @2300 rpm and burns 8-10 gph. The boat has two 100 gal fuel tanks and a 12' 7" beam and is just under 32' loa. Also there's no head...

It looks pretty rough, but the price caught my eye. I currently have a 2002 pursuit 2470 cc with twin yamaha 150 hpdi o/b's and would love to move up into a larger DE. This boat seemed like it might allow me to make a move into a DE around same price point as my cc. I could improve it over time as long as i'm able to fish this DE. I see people commenting on this boat as being slow, but a tank. I'd prefer to cruise faster like 17-19 kts...is that possible in this boat at higher end of power range?

Just out of curiosity how do the 31 BHM and 32 H&H compare (you said they are completely different hulls)?

You could do it, but you will burn a lot of fuel going that fast in a 31' BHM. Got one; they are not bad in the low teens, but much over 15 knots the fuel burn goes right up. It was one thing to put in 400+ hp and scoot around back in the 90's. Pushing 20 knots will cost you dearly now. In the world of semi-displacement hulls, BHM's are more on the displacement side than most, but they carry weight well and go well in rough seas. What was it someone said some months back- " an animal sea boat with a load on" or something to that effect?
