I'd sure like to think there's some market for wooden work boats! I'm a wood boat builder with a thing for Downeast boats, although in my area, I don't get much chance to see them. I'm trying to fix that . . . I just began talks with two potential clients to build wood-epoxy boats - a 32' and a 34'.
Peter Kass builds a beautiful boat. As far as I know, he's only building traditional, plank-on-frame. I admire that and would love to imitate but I'm not sure there's enough work for two of us. Instead, I'm offering the look and benefits of a wood boat with the ease of maintenance of wood-epoxy construction.
