I'm trying to set up a stern steering station, but with a stick instead of a wheel. Current dbl helm, upper/lower Teleflex with a HC5319 ram at the tiller. Why can't I put another HC5319 ram under the rail, pin it to a stick and pivot, becoming a 1:1 system? Install a ball valve in one line and close when using the helm stations. This is mainly a low speed steering.

It's a manual Hynatic system and around the dock, the auto is too slow. Trying to get back to my roots of a stick system. I'm trying to determine if there is too much drag to overcome.

Contemplating a simple lever steering and engine controls in my ass end. I have I auto pilot how hard it's it to splice into the controls?
