Converting a 35 jc from twins to single engine

Hey guys I've been following the down east forums for a couple of years now but have never posted. Love the down east hull forms! I have a chance to get a 35 jc for next to nothing. The boat is set up for twin 3208 cats and is missing one motor and has been neglected for some years and also the cockpit floor from the transom all the way to the cabin bulk head Is completely shot and has to be rebuilt but the rest of the hull is in great shape. I was thinking about converting it to a single motor set up. Does anybody know if it has been done before? If anybody has any ideas or knowledge about doing so i would greatly appreciate it. Will take some pics soon. I would like to know the actual differences between the tapered keel on the boat that im interested in and the keels I have seen for single screw in pics. Any thoughts ?
