No dumb questions, right?

I have noticed on the past 2 trips while laying in the V berth while the boat is running at 20 knots that the house "creaks" while underway.

I see no signs of cracks at the hull/top bond; there is no obvious "flex" I see or feel.

What to look for to figure out what is creaking as well as address it this winter.

Northern Bay 36; foam cored top.

Is it the commercial fishing or cruiser top? Who finished the boat for you? It sounds like they did not bed a bulkhead and it is rubbing on the interior of the hull and the only way to fix it is to cut it out.

Did you add anything this season that could be squeaking? I know who built that boat and I would guess its not a bulkhead but its not out of the question.

after some discussion and investigation I am now suspecting the bow rail is the culprit as I know a couple of the stanchions are loose. Its screwed, not thrubolted and as a result is a prime suspect.

Next trip I'll get my face up there and have a closer look.
