So what would it take to make this motor ready for marine use? heat exchanger with zincs, strainer? Is there a kit from cummins to convert over one of these motors. Also what about the output shaft, this motor was clearly a skid mounted pump. Is the output of an engine into a marine transmission a simple splined shaft like pictured here? or flywheel? Any help would be appreciated.

The cost of parts (at least buying them from Cummins) plus the asking price of this engine, probably equals the cost of a Cummins remanned engine with full warranty. It is no different from trying to marinize a truck engine. Why bother?

Unless you want to do a "project" to keep busy, IMO not worth it if the engine was "free".
Stick with a marine RECON if you want a Cummins
