WOndering if anyone can help, I'm looking at an older repco with a straight six 350 hp Cummins and trying to figure out the Model and if it is 'rebuildable' and help would be appreciated.

Old 6BTA 250 hp JWAC (freshwater aftercooler)

Looks like she's been in a very damp engine room or under a leaking engine box or cover.

Here's a picture of a "new one" :D

looks like a Cummins 6BTA JWAC to me. Those are not rated at 350hp, i think the highest they are rated in is 270hp. in the 4th picture on the front of the engine there is a black tag. that will have the engine information. if you post up the cpl and serial number someone should be able to look it up on cummins quickserv and give more particulars.

What would be the cost of that new Cummins pictured? Looking at older boats and need to know approx. cost to re-power as an option or future cost. Thanks.

The 6BTA 250 hp fresh water cooled aftercooler engine is no longer available.

You'd have to replace it with a 270,330 or 370 6BTA RECON.

All excellent "completely new" factory engines.

The 270 is actually more money than the 330 or 370 by a couple of grand because the demand is greater for the 330/370 hp engines.

Ballpark number and this can vary....+- $25K (no gear) depending on a 330 or 370.

btw, footprint of either the 270,330 or 370 is the same as what is in the Repco now.

You get some money for the core, so maybe a bit less for a 330. I just got one bobtail for low 20's w/ extended warranty (three more years- so five) but I turned in the old engine.
