Anyone hear of cutting down the length of a shaft while still in boat?

What about the keyway? The shaft will have to come out to have that machined.

Explain?

Cut the shaft in half and then splint it ?? :?:

Curious

It's called a "joke"

if you're going to do it in-boat do it on the area inside your coupling, you will have a shorter keyway and key. if you run a pin, you can re-drill that no problem, and for the set screw use a bushing to make the dimple.
