This week is the annual Defender Warehouse Sale. If you are anywhere near Waterford, CT it is not to be missed. The sale starts Thursday, March 29th and runs through Sunday, April 1st. Nowhere will you find more marine items at such low prices. Some Warehouse Sale fun facts:
- The first event took place in 1996 under a large tent in the parking lot and included overstocks and closeouts. Now they open their huge
warehouse to the public with more than 50,000 brand name products for serious boaters on sale. It’s the ultimate boaters’ candy store.

- It takes 300 people to staff the event from Defender personnel & manufacturer reps to cashiers and even traffic control.
- Customers begin lining up two hours before opening and each attendee receives a flyer highlighting super specials and providing a map to help navigate the massive sale.
- There are 26 checkout stations each handling hundreds of customers an hour, many with multiple shopping carts full of bargains.
- Thousands of cups of coffee, bottles of water, and soda are consumed along with hundreds of subs, bagels, and donuts, plus thousands of
Swedish Fish, a Warehouse Sale favorite. The Lions Club runs a fund raiser selling thousands of hot dogs. It's their biggest charity fund raiser of the year.

- There are thousands of dollars of hourly give-aways and over $13,000 in prizes for attendees to win including a Zodiac RIB, one of 175 boats & motors on display for the event.
