Deltaville Deadrise Gwen Marie

Gwen Marie was built by Earl Weston and Capt Billy Williams in Deltaville, VA back in the late 60's early 70's and she is my favorite deadrise on the Chesapeake. Do you folks have a favorite Deadrise down on the Chesapeake?

Totally awesome boat. So much of the Chesapeake tradition is represented here.

1986 35', Perkins diesel powered, Dave Rollins-built deadrise. She was built for a lady and to look like a 1950's deadrise. She's now owned by the Deltaville Maritime Museum's Discovery Cruises program, that I started 13 years ago. I do short cruises aboard the Jennie May the 4th Saturday of the month from April thru November. The Jennie May has always lived in a covered slip and she is in Bristol condition.

Yep I've seen her a bunch of times, what a beauty! She was berthed over by Only Son at Fishing Bay a couple winters back?

Thanks, Jennie May and the Gwen Marie are the two best looking deadrises' at Fishing Bay Marina!

The Jennie May was built in Poquoson and spent many years in Horn Harbor.
