No, it goes between the frame and the actual opening part of the window.

It has a profile to it, Better pics to come.

Sorry,
I replaced my windows in 2009 with DSG. I did not have any gaskets for the frames. The only sealant was butyl tape and silicone which worked fine.
I'd be interested in seeing what you mean.

How old are your windows...I thought they had quite a long warrantee on them...I stopped using them my last order was 9 months from the time I ordered them until they were done. The new management, what a joke. and the powder coat finish is see through.

I purchased various types of seals from Soundown in the past to solve issues similar to yours. Seems it isn't their primary bag but the seals were good quality. I have a PDF of their available "Hatch and Engine Box Gaskets" they sent me but I can't figure how to attach it in this forum response. (Seems simple enough but this old dog has trouble with these tricks... can anyone give me directions?)
The PDF includes gasket cross-sectional illustrations with pretty good dimensional specs.

Their letterhead is:

Thanks for the leads guys but still no luck for me on an exact fit.

But I'm questioning whether I need an exact fit, it's basically two flat surfaces sealing but I don't really want to experiment with this multiple times.

Anyone know of a stick on sealing strip that might work??? Has to go on aluminum frame.

Any other help before I bite the Diamond Seaglaze bullet would be appreciated.

The industry that supplies those very heavy EPDM pond liners could have a very watertight solution. Here's a double sided bond version:

I dealt with Sea Glaze on a similar problem & sent me down the rubber no charge.

Some photos attached. Looking at your repair so far I would completely remove the rubber striping. If it is not ripped I would thoroughly clean it gasket. Condition it with a good vinyl lube and re install it starting at the top and working it back in. That gasket should relock back into the track. You will need a nice warm day and I would also soak the gasket in nice warm water. If the gasket has stretched once you get back up to the top just trim it a little.
