Diesel Stern Drive Armstrong Bracket System

I just read an article in Soundings Magazine about a new product that incorporates Yanmar diesel engines into an Armstrong Bracket system. It can be bolted to a transom using through-bolts ( a lot of them). They showed photos of a 25' Parker Pilothouse with the new contraption. It is stern drive and is housed INSIDE the swim platform-bracket with a hydraulic "hood" that opens up to work on the motor. Wild concept- they claim it is the same weight as the outboards typically installed on this boat. This is available to the public to buy.

Pretty cool concept, not sure about the huge platform though. That model Parker is the same as mine.

That boat will still pound like all Parkers do !

looking at that hull - i can't imagine running that rig in a chop - those modified v parkers,they will beat you to death !

that power set up - looks terrible
i can't imagine the galvanic corrosion problems that will occur,when the inexperienced people paint that set up with a copper based antifouling paint...

I agree with the power setup looking off, but the hull is a deep vee, not mod vee.
