Downeast Boat Color Scheme Poll

Looking at a few boat this weekend that I think will need a paint job over the winter to meet my standards.. Looking online for "downeast boat color schemes".. not much out there.. So posting a few pics here..I am thinking the white top, navy or forest green hull, white boot stripe, red bottom..but then again I like them all..

Yeah, tough choice.

Ya I did the boat I have right now in gray cause it was my first 2 part paint, paint job and heard the lighter color was more forgiving.. Now that I've done it and know what is what I want to go with the navy or green..

I like mine
White top, gray sides, black bottom paint, red boot stripe.
Boot stripe was white when I got the boat, but the red really jumps out compared.

I like my green hull but i can see it will take a lot of waxing to keep it looking nice. Last boat was light blue and that one also faded over the years. My 35' Henriques Maine Coaster(hull #5) was white hull w/light blue roof and that was the easiest to keep clean.



I was interested in this 28BHM when i was boat shopping last year, bet the black hull will faded out quickly. This stick boat is in California if anybody is interested i think it is still for sale

Yup i did that was a long time ago. Does he still own it? I heard it was repowered with a Cat. If you could get some pictures of it i'd love to see how it looks now. I was only scared once on that boat winter codfishing blowing a gale out of the SW. It took 5000lbs of fish on deck to get the scuppers to touch the water, thats 125 boxes of bluefish on it in the picture. I had that boat built in 1976 its a great rig but i like my 29' H&H better(another tank).

ya I think im gonna add a red or a blue stripe to my midland this winter..I liek the way yours looks

I looked at that boat (Raven) 5 or 6 years ago. It was for sale in Ma then.
That last pic is of it up in Newbury port Ma. (where I looked at it 2 different times 3 months apart)
The boat started out gas powered and chased tuna out of Cape Cod back in the 1980s.
Was repowered to diesel, that motor was eventually replaced by Steve Law with a 315 Yanmar.
It had 500 hrs on the Yanmar when I looked at it.
It sold, went west and the owner selling it now spent some $. new decks, electronics and other stuff.
At the time 5 years ago the outside of the hull looked it's age and I believe the boat was built in the mid 1980s.

most boaters seem to use black bottom paint but I like to alternate between traditional red and green
