Downeast sportfishing charter-tuna

Custom 35 downeast express built by Peter Legnos. Airex cored hull. Aluminum hardtop and tower. Detroit 485hp just rebuilt at Rhode Island engine. Have all receipts. Twin Disc 507 gear with trolling valve. Commercial electronics, 10 man raft, 406 epirb, swivel rod holders, in deck well, salt water wash down, recent batteries, fighting chairs, rocket launcher, big cockpit and huge salon, 2 bus heaters. Just received new decal from the Coast Guard for new uninspected passenger vessel safety inspection. Boat needs nothing except the bottom power washed and painted. Boat looks like Al Anderson's Prowler. Did you buy from him? I saw it advertised a few years ago. The Fish Trap out of PT Jude was similar hull with fly bridge. I think Capt's 1st name was Mario. Boat moved right along with the Volvo he had in it and fuel economy was very good.

The boat is the former Prowler. I didn't buy it from Al, although I was docked right next to it in Snug Harbor for years. I bought it from the kid who bought it from AL. He tuna fished it down the Cape for a couple of years out of Bass River before I bought it. I had it up for sale a couple of winters but had to take it off the market due to charter commitments. It's a big 35 and descent on fuel. Al really put alot of thought into it when he designed the layout.

What year is the hull? I fished on it once with Al in the late 80's on a nasty day south of Block. Very stable as I recall...

The hull is a 1981. Airex cored. She sits like a duck on the drift. She's seen some pretty nasty stuff in her day and has caught her share of tuna and striped bass and will continue to for many years. As a matter of fact, I think Al was given some award for the most tagged tuna or striped bass on the East Coast by the IGFA on this boat. Sportfishing history!! There's a reason for somebody to at least take a look at it!!

reel,you say the boat is 35'...why is the documentation say 31'

I don't know why it was measured that way. I've seen it before on other boats. I've seen 31jc's measured at 28' and 31' and I've seen 46' Jarvis Newmans measured at 46' and 48'. I guess it all depends who measures it. I measured a 34' Uniflite for initial documentation with a tape measure by myself. You just fill out the paperwork and send it to National documentation center. I think most of the Legnos boats were 35's. I never complained about it because every time I haul out I know I'm getting a little bit in my favor

There's a head and a couple of v berths down below and you can sleep a couple of people in the salon. Right now I have a bait freezer on the port bunk but I have the cushion in my cellar. Theres also alot of rod storage down below and in the salon. I'll post some pics.
