nice boat

This looks real nice. Check out the one Newman and Gray has for sale, might help with the value. The Newman and Grey boat has a gas Volvo if I remember. These boats are set up differently. Gas for this boat at 26 feet is not that bad. Great boat and will handle most anything. This will be a great boat for someone.

Yeah i had that motor in one of my boats. If Its a 350 multiple port injection it is excellent on gas and has 315HP. If its carburated the gas mileage is not as good.

I sure like the looks of this boats but the price seems high for a gas boat any thoughts on that.

What are you going to compare finish work and wood work like that with a Hinkley? Its basially a yacht finish 26 Duffy.

So then in your opinion you feel that's a good price, and if so what is the average life expectancy of the engine in that boat? and fuel range of that boat.

Put it this way you could buy a brand new bobtail 350mpi mercruiser with 315HP for about the same money it would cost you to rebuild that diesel if it were to have one in it. It sounds like it has a 260HP carburated motor in it, they are not as efficient as the mpi models and don't have the power either. You would probably get between around 3 to 4 thousand hours out of that motor depending how you run it and take care of it. Even though it doesn't have the ideal diesel in it its still a nice setup.

No I feel like someone would have to be nuts to spend 75K on a gas 26 Duffy just because it has lost of pretty wood. Unless that is exactly what they wanted.

26 Duffy asking 39k single gas. This boat has been for sale for a good long while so U could probably work em a bit. 1997 Duffy 26 Lobster/Cruiser Power Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

That boat (Buoygirl) was sold last year, the new owner is a DEBF member. Not sure why the ad hasn't been taken off YW yet?

There is alot of crap on yachtworld that has been on there WAY after its sold. Sorry for the link. I was not aware she was sold.

Diesel are wonderful, however these new FFI gas motors in DE @ 26 and less are an excellent way to go. They are smooth, faster quieter & cheaper to fix. I am see more & more small boat repowers going with gas.
