Very similar. I've got 330hp and typically cruise at 14kts when in a hurry, but usually 7kts. Blue collar cruiser speed :)

Looking at the closed sales, this is almost high priced for the small power.

100% agreed! To each his own! You know, nothing but compromises when it comes to boats.

Due to noticing that the lobster boats in the harbor with John Deere engines are almost as good as the performance of what I have had with
Volvo, I would probably make JD my second choice in a boat I owned. Not being that familiar with other JD engines.. I was wondering what this boat has. It says JD 40 series 300hp. Is that a good engine?

I've got less than 1/2 your HP in my Bruno, top out at 15k and cruise at 12k turning 2200. Maybe you have something wrong??
