stumbled across this listing while perusing YW earlier. I am wondering if this is a stretched 42, or a chopped 48? The beam is listed as 15', which doesn't seem to correspond with either of those hulls (according to the AB website). Anybody know anything about this beast? Looks like she was outfitted to the nines for sportfishing.

Frank,

I spoke with a captain a few years back and we were talking about a boat that ABC was building for his boss, that was a streched 42 with twins, set up for sport fishing, I think the boat was headed for Texas as the owner was a Houston Pilot.

This boat is not a chopped 48....the 48 is a much larger, beamier boat. Duffy has made several stretched 42s. However, the beam of a 42 is 14'6", and the draft is 4.5 ft, not 31/2 feet as shown on the listing. Its an interesting boat, and must have presented some challenges stuffing a pair of Manns in there.

Ive seen that boat in person many times in NH. Its got a very high end luxury finish. Its too pretty for me.

It also seems waaaaaay to narrow for its length and also seems too top heavy with the bridge. Beautiful boat nonetheless.

It looks ridiculous to me. Sheer is too low for all that superstructure.

7 figures? Whuh?

Sorry, sticker shock. Probably worth it to the right buyer, if they exist in this universe.

So it lists fuel as 830 gallons, but then said there are two 100 gallon pillow tanks with transfer pumps. Does that make the real tankage 630 gallons or the real total fuel cap 1030 gallons?

I do like the tackle closet though.

Looks disproportionate to me, not only the low sheer but the wheelhouse just seems a little looooong. Looks like they raised the house about an extra 2 feet to get the engines under the salon. Very intrigued by the stretch though, similar in dimension to the 46' Wesmac which seems to be a popular model. AB can really finish 'em off to yacht quality spec if you've got the deep pockets.....
