Your plan is good but mount a pumpguard (strainer) in between the batteries or in an easy access point. I done a few 29's with an 1100 rule on a G10 pad aft of the motor and a 2000 forward in case of a grounding. Nice work so far!

it is about easy access to keeping the pickup clear. The Dyers are so narrow we would tie wrap screen over the hose end and tiewrap it because a bilge hose foot will not fit. One solution was a pi pvc pipe with holes drilled in it and the end plugged.

I like the idea of filling in most of that deep vee in the bilge. Use closed cell foam and fiberglass to build it up and leave a sump to collect whatever gets in there at a location that is easy to access for the pump suction and for cleaning.

I would lay up a piece of solid glass, and widen the bottom . Depending on height restrictions, you could make a sump on one of the pumps, and the rest of the bilge would be dry when the water in the hose drains back. We have been doing this for a while , filling in the center, and making a low spot sump for the pump to sit in, it makes the area dry.

I have 2 pumps in my dyer- forward under the cabin there's the regular rule style, but the main one is a diaphram positioned high starboard with a hose. that one is set for auto. batteries are glassed, never had an issue.
