Its a gas boat which, for his use, was great. Nice and quiet.

Repowered in the last couple years but I couldnt tell you what it is. Think it makes about 18 knots tho.

PM me for his email/cell if interested.

Am I getting this right?$ 85,000 for a forty two year old 29 footer with gas power. I really like the Dyer 29 , but damn that price is high.

I had a trunk cabin model with a new diesel and it was pretty mint, had the local wood boat specialist paint it before the sale, got right about half that much for it. And that was only after I gave it to the Dyer guy to broker it. Good luck, just don't hold your breath.

Yes you are Restless- I dont know what drives the value of these boats or if its worth his ask but there are people who love these things and they have great lines. Like no other boat really. Just gorgeous.

Time will tell for sure. Def more $ than most boats this size too. This boat is more yachty (like sailboat) than a work boat.

Dyer 29's. Yup, love them, admire them - just can't afford them...

Of course this is just what they are hoping to get. Imagine if you could see the actual sold at price of everything listed on CL.

For example- the final sold price on this gem listed for $12,500- "Needs light restoration and cleaning."
OWENS 40' TAHITIAN, TWIN V6 CYL. DIESELS, AFT CABIN, SLEEPS 6 - B/O!

Most of that is surface related and should buff right out, LOL!:p

With respect to the Dyer 29, the most appealing aspect of your friend's boat is the cabin. Most of these are finished off with horrible looking cabins which just ruin a very pretty hull. But, I agree with above, I don't care how much brightwork is on it (a knock against it in my book) an old boat with gas power is worth about $20K to me. But, it is a Dyer, who knows....
