I've heard that there has been testing of ethanol- diesel blends in some markets around the country. There seems to be some knowing people on here in the diesel area, wondering if anyone has heard of any talk of future marine use. Let's hope not.

The BlueTec diesel in my car is a urea injected engine certified in all 50 states. (yes CA too).

ZERO smell/fumes, uses about a gallon of Adblue every 10,000 miles.

Whether we agree or not, this IS the future of diesel engines.

EVERY marine diesel manufacturer is looking @ a "build schedule" to meet EPA compliance. Tier III is coming soon. Figure 2018 forward we'll be dealing with urea injection.

btw, the new QSB 6.7 Cummins is a Tier III engine.

FWIW,
