I have been rebuilding a 1976 20' Eastporter made by Passamaquoddy Yacht Co. in Eastport, ME for three years. I'm excited to share the rebuild with you since it is now in the water, and I'm glad it is over. I used West System Epoxy and fillers, 1708 biaxial for structural, 6/8 oz. for waterproofing, Wynne Enterprises for windows, new spray rails, rub rails, wiring, electronics etc. I rebuilt/replaced the following: transom, stringers, sole (floor), gunnels, washboards, bulkhead leading to cuddy, pilothouse, replaced hatch with used Bomar, new portlights by Gebo. I installed a new 80 hp Suzuki four stroke and I'm happy with it for inshore fishing, beach trips, and eventually rec. lobstering and scalloping. I'm having trouble posting the photos (too big?). Any help on getting them on this site? Thanks.

Hey Eastporter..Thanks for adding your rebuild..what did you use for the spray rails and rub rails? I had a bitch of a time finding mine..finally got them at bomar plastics in brockton,ma..as far as uploading pics..what is the problem? do you see the "upload attachment" button? if you do and it still doesnt take it..try reducing the photo size by right clicking on the picture on your computer and open it up with paint and shrink it down. or any photo editing software will do it..if you need help send me the pics to [email protected] and ill give you a hand..

see now that is a nice rebuild buddy..slick paint job that was my first choice in color for mine and then I went with the platinum..did you just roll and tip it or? any thinning with the brightsides?..the next boat I do will be that color scheme..how much was the motor and where did you get it? how was the install?

Bill,
The Brightside paint should be thinned with the thinner they recommend. I used roll and tip for some, but found straight brushing to give better results with no bubbles. The "Badger Brushes" are very expensive yet worth it for painting. Thanks for the compliments on the boat. The motor was purchased and installed by Atlantic Boats in Wareham, MA. It's a great motor, very efficient, quiet, and light. Suzuki also gave me a 6 year warranty included. I had to go with a bigger prop than original, and I will probably put the motor down one notch to get it trim easier. In the future (after warranty is up) I think a hydrofoil will improve the planing and handling.

FYI- There are two pages of posted photos here. I noticed the numbers for "Viewed" drop off for the second page.
