I picked up a 10 inch electradyne that needs a new motor (the price was right, even with having to buy a new motor)
What motor to buy ?
Original electradyne 3/4 hp or a replacement one ?
There is a company advertising on CL
(H2O Equipment) that has a few different ones at same rpm, one 3/4 hp or 2 hp
Spoke with a guy from the company, he claims they are better sealed and better internal components.
Not sure what the typical life span on the motors are anyway original or replacement aftermarket as salt water is its enemy.
Not in a big rush.
Needed a housing to mock up where I'm going to mount off my wash rail and enclose it in a box when my new deck is down.
Thanks.

Excellent haulers btw,
Your project is coming along just fine.
Nice to have the skills, experience and tools for the job !

I picked up this 8 year old 10 inch Electradyne for real short $
Disassembled it completely.
Spent about 15-20 minutes with the housing in my sand blasting cabinet.
Will epoxy prime then paint it white with an Imron / Awlgrip type of paint we use in the body shop.
Need to replace the motor and a few other minor parts.

Ronnie give Larry at electradyne a call he can fill you in on motors and maybe rebuild the motor you already have. I was in the shop a couple of years ago and he had a hauler that was at least 20 years old that he rebuilt, new seals on the gearbox and a new motor, it looked like the only time it had been cleaned was when it rained on it , ran great when it left there. I do know that they have those motors made for them its not a standard off the shelf motor. I do know ED has a 1hp motor but it runs at half the speed of the 3/4hp.
