I cooked 90% of my meals on a 2 burner coleman propane stove when i had my bowpicker and i was living on that boat for 4-5 months a year. I still have the stove on the boat now.

We had a Kenyon butane burner, but if I were looking to go electric I would look at the induction burners. Heat way faster and much safer. You can put your hand right on the burner with no effect. The burner only heats the pan (requires iron or iron/enamel pans)

One of the more popular (and cheapest):
Amazon.com: Max Burton 6000 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop, Black: Kitchen & Dining

Draws more like 15 amps.

So this would be ok to run off of a inverter to heat up soup, coffee stews ?
