I have an old hummingbird panorama fish finder which I would like to replace. I am interested in a furuno fcv627.it looks like a great stand alone fish finder. I am using a garmin stand alone gps.Someday , when money allows,i would like to install radar. I have a 22 foot sisu bass boat, with limited helm space .I started looking at the lowrance hds8 .Does anybody have any opinions on whether I should stick with the stand alone units or make the change to the mfd.Is the lowrance vs. the furuno fish finder a concern? My budget on this is only 1500 dollars right now.

by far best bang for buck is the lowrance hds, as you save up money, you'll really appreciate the 3G radar. Also structure scan is pretty cool if your a bottom fisherman.
