If you were to build a new downeaster and money was not an option, which engine manufacturer would you choose? Why?

Really just curious about everyone's favorite manufacturer. Not building a boat at this time.

This line of questioning is akin to "If you're going to be shot into outer space, what color socks would you wear?"

Everyone has something different in mind once you get into outer space, what works for one person wouldn't fit the bill for the next.

It's not just a question of what brand or color, but you need to consider usage, hours of operation, service, cost of replacement parts, etc etc. You can have the best engine in the world, but if you can't get service for it then what good is it to you?

Also, I like to think that I'd bring gray socks into outer space. Gray seems like a good color. Probably some nice thick ones, I hear it gets cold on the dark side of the moon.

Relative to this forum, that's where I live. Heavy dark blue ones are working for me.
