Was told by a builder to use Evercote z grip body filler . Was wondering if anybody ever used and had success with it .

never tried it. I have used "bondo" and it's not the best.

I can say....I'm in love with Polyfair from Merton's.

Never used it on a real boat, but I've built a few RC race boats and use it for fairing those. Sands very easy and has held up well to the abuse they take.

Some day...
I just used the 3M “filler compound” and it was easy to use and sanded down really nice.

Poly fair is my enemy. It works great but my least favorite thing is fairing.

It was suggested to me to use the Evercoat Spotlite

I just used the Total Boat product ,slow drying following the exact proportions but worked out great ,sanded well. With the forecast for tomorrow I plan to get three coats of barrier coat and possibly the tracer bottom coat on.

Some body fillers absorb water, such as what Bondo does. I would NEVER use an automotive filler, would stick with marine.
