I am putting another layer of glass on the hauling side and was wondering what type of cloth to use?

if you are just looking for abrasion resistance, then chop strand mat will do just fine. apply several layers

I used 3 layers of chop strand mat, has held up for years.

Kevlar would be great for abrasion resistance but is somewhat "fuzzy". I used to use it under a layer of light (6oz) cloth for the keel line of beach cats and small sailing dinghys.
