Fishing show bonanza

Is it just me or are there new fishing shows starting up all the time now....Another one called NOREASTER MEN on the history channel......All these shows...How do you guys feel does it help or hurt the commercial guys? I would imagine it would hurt them?

For sushi/sashimi, I've been told you should age the loins for a couple of days. So it's possible to be too fresh. ;)

For the life of me, I don't understand why anyone agrees to do one of those shows. The successes are rare, and making money is even rarer. Usually the crews and captains are made to look like asses, though that doesn't take much in most cases.

It's all risk, with very little if any upside.

Why do people do it?

Lets not forget how it looks when they have to dump a whole net of yellow tail flounder and dump a 500 lb Mako (porbeagle)over because NMFS says they cant keep it...it makes the whole industry look bad
