Don’t want to. All my wife and I can do is empower our daughter to be the best independent woman possible. Use examples like the above as what not to do. Other than my wife there are still many positive female role models for her to look to.
Totally all you can do and it will be a hard cloudy road shall we say because of education syst. After early schooling that you have a little input, you get 9 years of Tuffs that will influence more than than all the life's lessons you can show up till then!! Don't ask how I know but during the young yrs I was the stay at home dad so have some experience lol!! Also much of this does not matter what country you are in? what does that tell you?

Today the world is full of "influencers". Back in the day we simply called them assholes and never paid much attention to what they had to say. Hang on tight. The Tilt-A -Whirl is going up!

You’re both wrong.
60s & 70s were certainly better but it was the start of the decline.
My grandfather used to say the Beatles started the downward spiral in this country with their long hair & making drugs the thing to do.
I tell my father & his brother all the time (both in their early 80s)
They grew up in the best decade this country experienced. 1950s.
Post ww2 country was growing.
Cost of goods vs pay was so much better for achieving the American dream.
Doing away with Blue Laws (stores closed on Sunday) started the destruction of the family.
Growing up, every Sunday was family day. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents...... all around the dinner table.
Today we see family at funerals.
kinda agree. Thought the blue laws were silly and inconvenient when I was younger, thought the violence in movies/arcade thing was over exaggerated .... But, I get it now.

Doing away with Blue Laws (stores closed on Sunday) started the destruction of the family.

The biggest factor in the destruction of family was due to wealth disparity and greed. The greedy wealthy capitalized on WWII. The war forced women into the workforce. And while wealthy men stayed home and made money off of desperate women, working class men died over seas. And instead of doing the right thing and helping to restore the family unit when the war was over, the wealthy continued to capitalize and relished that men now had to compete with their under paid spouses. This destroyed the ability of Average Joe's family to survive on a single income. Then, without a matriarch in the home to watch the kids and take care of the elderly, families were destroyed. Kids suffer the consequences of growing up without parental guidance or the lessons of their elders; and those same elders get to experience the miracle's of modern medicine; as they die a prolonged lonely death in a nursing home while watching the last scraps of their life savings get stripped away to pay for it.

Cardi B is the least of our problems.

Blame the rich and Cardi B is the least of our problems.

Wow
Ok Bernie Sanders.

Ya, you're right. Half the country is poor and struggling because their parents let them listen to Cardi B sing. Makes so much more sense. It was just silly to think it has anything to do with the wealthy rigging the system to take advantage of them. I don't know what I was thinking. That Burnie sure got into my head.

To be clear, if you're worried when I say wealthy I'm referring to guys floating around in quarter million dollar downeasters, I'm not. Good for them. If I had been a little smarter and worked a little harder I might have been one of them myself. When I say "wealthy" I mean the guys who can afford to stack up quarter million dollar downeasters like cordwood to pass out as bribes as they rig elections and bend the worlds laws to their favor.

And FYI it was Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" that won the Grammy for song of the year.

They took it right out of your pocket over the past 50 years and kept it. Minimum wage equivalent 1970 to today is $24.00/hr. Federal min. wage is currently $7.25/hr. Less than 1/3 the buying power it had in 1970. Why? Because they pushed all that money to the top of the pile while working stiffs sucked hind tit. AND payed out the lion's share of income taxes via "earned income". Yeah. Bernie. Damn socialist. Concerned about bringing wages to $15.00/hr. 62.5% of where they should be if profits hadn't been delivered to the top. How DARE he when the yacht crowd needs another billion or two? Don't get me wrong. I have employees. I pay them reasonably. Above $15/hr. Some weeks I might not make as much as they do. But I sleep well at night. The frog has been boiling since the late 60's. And you been gaslit hard.

Only job I got paid minimum wage was when I was 15 years old during the summer on a framing crew. That lasted 3 months until football season started. When I was 19-20 yrs old in college I worked with a small roofing crew, made $20 an hour in the late ‘90’s. My boss got his money’s worth too. Never showed up late, worked my butt off, didn’t need breaks, had a great attitude, no drinking, no drugs, and a strong work ethic. It’s not real complicated to make significantly above minimum wage if you know how to work.

You proved the point. If companies can get away with paying the least possible amount of money, they do. That's business. A family friend was a bank president years ago. Around 1970 he made about 3X what a teller made. And loved it. He never busted his ass - he did his job, but by the time he retired he was making 20X the teller scale. That's the frog boiling. Some CEO's went light years beyond that. And never broke a sweat. There seems to be millions and millions of idiots trying to survive these days. Costco, for example, pays all its employees over $15.00/hr. They did it. The world didn't come crashing down. As to the purpose of the minimum wage: The purpose of the minimum wage was to stabilize the post-depression economy and protect the workers in the labor force. The minimum wage was designed to create a minimum standard of living to protect the health and well-being of employees. No kids flipping burgers there. It's merely what you've bought into.

But I'm done with this. The last 4 years of trying to explain reality, well, I'll stick to my boats, diesels and fishing gear.

What in the....GQ. Isn’t that available in any mag rack in any grocery store. How do I explain that to my daughter......wait, I just answered my own question. I will explain the hell out of it.
How also are you going to explain that the person in the stall next to her is a guy that thinks he is a girl?

not for long, you won't. You may not like Trump or the GOP but the other side is hell bent on stopping you, me, and everyone else from engaging in any recreational activity that involves consuming fossil fuels---and very soon.

Nope. Just corporate america boiling the frog, keeping wages down, taxes down on the top percenters. So yeah, maybe the ARE smarter. But there's only one bank president and a thousand other employees, all of whom you seem to feel are stupid.
