im not sure you know anything about me Just like I don’t know anything about you. Therefore I’m not going to assume you are one of those..... just like you shouldn't assume I’m anything.

my Comments weren’t directed at anyone just an opinion. Don’t take it personal,
It’s ok to assume a little. I’ll try not to take it personal, and you do the same. I don’t take issue with you, I just take issue with you supporting the 1%.

Negative. The last thing we need is a government agency telling us who is good or bad. Let the people decide.
The government decides who’s good and bad countless times every day. It’s called the Judicial branch of the government. The government is the people.

but I know what you mean. The broken government we have right now doesn’t feel like it’s by the people for the people, and that’s sort of the pint of all my posts in this thread.

Working for the greater good, power to the people, workers of the world unite. From those that have to those in need. No borders, no walls, no countries at all. Just one big happy world. A world in need ruled by a world of greed. Distribution of the wealth, reparations. Equity for all. You go brother.
Just as long as I get my relief check so I can buy more carbon credits from Algore.

As far as minimum wage....those that want more need to work harder. Change jobs, work two jobs, go to school, what ever it takes.
When I got out of the military I was a financial mess. Credit card debt, living from paycheck to paycheck, just not getting anywhere. So I took side jobs worked harder than I have ever worked. I was general labor for a construction company and on the side I was clearing 14 acres with nothing more than a 3/4 ton gmc, and a Husqavarna 455, and plowed snow before and after work in the winter. Put myself in a tech school with help of the GI Bill. Started my marine mechanic life. By then I was married with one kid and living with my in-laws. Still not good enough. While working at Yankee Marina and Boatyard I had second jobs at Cabela’s, HomeDepot, Hannaford’s, and throwing hay bails. Realized I wasn’t getting paid enough and changed boatyards Made enough to buy the small house I am living in now.
If I had just sat and cried that I wasn’t making enough I would still be general labor at a construction company living paycheck to paycheck with a mountain of debt on my shoulders, but because I said “eff it this isn’t good enough” I am a reputable Marine Diesel Mechanic and systems tech, Sales Rep for DuraBrite’s, and DieselJerry. Am I a millionaire Nope, not yet. I am happy, still hungry for more. I still work hard. I get to work an hour early. I get my OT.
Blaming society, big money, your parents, or what ever will get you nowhere. Even if it maybe someone’s fault. Eff them, you do you and show them they can’t keep you down.

Jerry, you know I like you and respect you. Good hard worker with a great attitude. You promote the company you work for because you believe in them and want to support them. We dont agree on politics 100%, but that is fine by me.

I feel like anyone willing to put in the time and effort to better themselves as you have (and serve your country) should be able to enjoy a really tremendous quality of life here in the USA. Yet today a lot of hard working people are forced to make really tough decisions about healthcare, housing, childcare, etc. while management make 5x their annual income. Doesn't seem right. And I have been the manager that makes 5+X their employees income.

Don't get me wrong, I have been to the worst places in this world and seen how bad the vast majority have it. All of us here have it so well compared to the global average. However, we still should work to our lives and community the best it can be.

When you say The Judicial branch, any lessons from these last few yrs?? Question, why can someone pay to get different outcomes by different lawyers?? How can an entity that has different rules for the the same wording of law that is a supposed to be final, be the chosen one? The law is the law and if choosing when to follow, by different outcomes does what? To have different outcomes proves it can be corrupted but of course by using the word perception or interpretation in order to justify. Sometimes there is no answer and that's what has to be acceptable in order to do the best possible. Anything else can be abused by the person or org, that thinks IT has the right to draw the line or appear to want to control the balance of freedom? Honest look at history shows its Human nature IE the bully, IE strongest overall, that started and built empires but keeping it is where the no answer has some validity. Have we not made positive strides in the human condition? To add to all this, question, Is there enough resources in this tiny space for all to have everything?

I don’t follow. And I’m not advocating for all to have everything. I’m saying if you’re a decent human being you won’t steal everything from everyone. And given where we are in human history there’s no reason for any American to have nothing.

think of it this way. Should one man be able to have a nuclear bomb? If not, why can he have the monetary equivalent? I’d say if you control two hundred billion dollars your even more dangerous than a guy with a nuke. The damage you do may not be as immediate and obvious, but it’s just as real.

Agree on the decent helpful humans CHOOSING to help IS one of the gifts humans have!! Just gave the reason why use of judicial is not even across the boards unless you can show me why two different outcomes for same circumstances can be fair and a rule? Quote "Should one man be able to have a nuclear bomb? If not, why can he have the monetary equivalent? I’d say if you control two billion dollars your even more dangerous than a guy with a nuke." This example is kinda strong, impractical, and begs the questions, First the guy with the nuke did not work to get it or have to work to keep it? Why two billion? Why not 1B or not based on monetary equivalent at all? Is money the king of happiness or measure of a decent human?? You can interpret it anyway you want but what is advocated in this subject is 5 guys get in a room, then three of them choose to steal from the other two! Tell me how this is inaccurate? I offer hard work as one of the best equalizers that is hard to corrupt and has worked, and should be at least the guiding principle and teachings!! How do you square the fact that if you take all the wealth away and give it away, it will only sustain America for what 6M? Then tell all from around the world that you come here and we will give it to you? Can that be sustained? Questions are easy, answers are not lol, but to ignore human nature, facts, and what cant be done fairly or equally gets justified by selective interpretation, is a dead end in my view and brings on bitterness. Again all just MY view!

ok. I will give you the exact day the country began to decline. 23 April 1957. It was an episode of 'Leave it to Beaver". June Cleaver is coming down the stairs, stops and look at Ward Cleaver sitting in his chair reading the paper, and she says, "Ward, you were a little hard on the Beaver last night....." ;)

TV has been going down ever since, and now we have Cardi B., which in some circles these days could be construed as lunch chatter on a tugboat or a side bar in a courtroom. Carlin's 7 words you cant say seem so lame now, as Cardi B so eloquently illustrated. Elvis was once the pariah (not fat Elvis) and evil--now he's a caricature. In 100 years today's crap will be also, none of today's latest and greatest will be remembered, except the US will be socialist. When the majority of voters realize they can vote themselves money, its downhill from there, and we are on the black diamond trillion dollar slopes already. A white dwarf heading for a black hole....its physics.

I don't at all disagree with the top vs bottom thing as I think some of the people at my company who make 7 figures annually in comp are some of the most incompetent businesspeople I've ever come across. People who are 2, 3 levels down from the CEO making 50x what the average employee makes is not right. On the flip side of the coin, I have zero confidence in the federal government to "fix" anything; all they want to do is punish people for being rich, and not solve any of the issues that keep people from rising further up the ladder. This is simply a transfer of wealth, zero guarantee it would create more wealth for all, which should be the goal.

I don't really like politics on boating/fishing boards as it's supposed to be an escape, at least for me. But, I'll say it again because I truly believe it's a threat to the common thread that brings us all here. If anybody thinks the left side of the aisle isn't actively attempting to stop all recreational activities that require burning fossil fuels in the near future.....you've got your head in the sand. My .02, but it's pretty damn clear to me. And unless the marine industry has done an incredible job of hiding battery propulsion systems development from the public, it's a sad thought for my favorite rec activity since I could walk.
Biodiesel will be the fuel of the future for uses like boating, renewable, creates jobs in the farm sector, drains the swamp in Saudi Arabia.
