What downeast boat in the 30' to 35' range has the best fuel economy? A cruise of 15 to 18 knots would be nice. What would be the trade off in sea keeping ability? Like to make a few offshore trips a year. Also need to keep the family happy so something set up for weekend overnights.

Yep your right, misleading. On a day harpooning, running 15-16kts he will burn 35 gallons or so, and thats a long day. Pretty stingy if you ask me.
