I want to touch up some spots on my boat. On my past boat, even though it was light blue had no problem matching it by mixing from West Marine packages. Id like to get a little better than this because I have a hard time getting it as its off white, actually oyster white.

People have said to try Spectrum or Minicraft in Florida. They will sell you matched paints and in small amounts. I know locally I can get white but matching is a pain in the ass. I have the original CCP number but last time I went down this road, Composite One in RI gave me a problem as I didn't have some HAZMAT certs and minimum order was 5 gallons I think.

I know it still maybe off a little bit due to age but that is okay.

By the way, its good to be back online after being at sea for 3.5 months or so. Glad to see this board is doing so well.

Wished I'd seen this post last week, Monday we threw 3 gallons of CompOne's oyster white gel on the table to make a panel out of it just to get rid of it, we're just gelcoating white enamel over it.

Talk to Joe at Merton's. Very knowledgeable guy and might be able to help you match. You don't have to order 5 gallons from him either.

Gel Coat Products

I would try Gel Coat Product in Seattle. They provide great matches and are easy to deal wth.

FYI, I think someone was asking some questions about your boat for sale over on THT awhile back. Someone on there told the guy you were out.

If you call Merton's, you can talk to Joe, and he will fill you with knowledge on anything fiberglass. He's great.

Yes the Merton's gelcoat is good stuff, especially the gelcoat with wax added already. Goes on Nice with a foam roller. (yellow foam roller) And if you are going to spray it sands really nice. Joe is the man call before 4pm goes out that day.
