Going full nerd with heated seat covers!

Nerd alert! Thinking about getting a set of these for the Jeep. My issue is the long stupid cord and 1980’s controller. My thoughts are hardwire it to my aux electrical system (an extra group 34 optima battery and fuse panel). With a switch and potentiometer. I am guessing I will need to match the ohms of resistance through the controller with the potentiometer.

I‘ve installed seat heaters in 2 of my TJs. They were cheap and I was able to do it in about a day (or less) for both seats. Awesome upgrade! I wired into the fuse box behind the glovebox.
Good luck Jerry, it’s well worth it, however you get those seats heated.

I have heated seats in my truck, its a game changer for sure.

If I had the option I would buy something that was plug and play, avoid all the "engineering" of building something yourself and inevitably having to do it multiple times to get it correct.

That’s the fun part though. That and I hat cords and cheesy controllers.

I bet you could get those seat covers, and wire them to a factory jeep button on the dash, they probably even have a pig tail harness available.

My Ram has a high/low option for the heated seats, it would probably be the same button for your jeep.

Heated seats are awesome, wish the new truck had them.. Heated steering wheel is even better,and ran mine almost year round, no more hand cramps

I wasn't going to talk about it, but I agree the heated steering wheel is sweet.

My commute for work is very short, but the heated seat and the heated steering wheel are more important than the remote starter.

No factory switches available. This is an 03 Jeep TJ. I already have an “Auxiliary” electrical system with a group 34 Optima battery as the foundation. I have a Blue Seas fuse panel off of that. My DuraBrite’s and my stereo run off the auxiliary side. These would run off the same system. I actually found some cheaper ones at Walmart.
