So some guy swears that adding a two foot extension to a 35 duff turns the boat in an easier pusing boat and helps with effiency? I just have never heard of anyone putting an extenstion on a duffy before. I know that they do it to a 38 H&H to a 40 and it changes the boat completely but a 35 duff alreardy is a amazing riding boat.

Good question!...but i guess its like the old saying....if its not broke dont try to fix it......i think with the 38 H&H they were always looking for improvement

Theory doesn't just apply to Duffy. By adding me length u increase displacement which equals less lbs per sq in on hull. Keeping beam Adding length changes ratio and yes longer narrow boats easy to push.... up to a certain point of course

Adding length will tend to make the boat run at a flatter attitude and keep the stern from digging in (more lift). If I wanted 2' more feet of Duffy, I would prefer the 37' Duffy, as adding length to a boat is not always a good thing and more expensive. Some hulls aren't designed to have length added to them as it will adversely effect their performance. I know for example, Stewart will not add length to the 38' Calvin Beal. Adding length is also expensive, a 42' Wesmac hull is cheaper than if you had them add 2'-3' to their 38' hull.

Any comments on what a following sea does to that boat with that 3' extension? The rudder is 3' farther forward...She must Yaw fiercely plus being overweight and underpowered.
