Helm chair

Looking for a cheaper alternative to a stidd or other crazy priced helm chairs I came across these. The company tells me that they will easily mount to my existing slider and pedistal and they are well constructed and able to be used for an exterior helm. They are designed for use on pontoon boats but look like they would work for our application also. Any thoughts?

Looks to comfortable to me, i'd be asleep at the wheel in no time !! $400 is still a lot of $$ to me but i'm kinda old school when it comes to spendin' money. With all the boats in junk piles after sandy i'd think there would be a chair or two around just for the taking along with a wealth of other boat stuff ???

A bunch of the tin cans around here have Bentley's Seats. Never priced one out myself, but hear the pricing is good.

I don't do really long runs, requiring a comfy chair; so im looking for a cheap classy ladder back helm chair to sit on top of my engine box. Tracy, makes one close,would really like to fine one used.

I couldn't afford any of those. Also, I wanted something that would fold up out of the way against the coaming. I made my own for about $200, teak and hardware included. If you're a DIY'er, it's not a bad option.

No canyon runs for me. My needs are space and cost. Plus with a cushion, it beats my last chair by a landslide (which was nothing!).

check out lebroc helm chairs, I bought a workmate 6 yrs ago , very comfortable and has held up great. around $800 when purchased, used an existing post, nothing fancy but very functional

Thumbs up for Arrigoni

They are not the cheapest around, but I have to throw a vote out for the Arrigoni. We've had their helm chair/tackle center in a 26 Fortier for almost 15 years and its held up great.

Those look similar to some Mast and Mallet style chairs I saw a few years ago. I like the simplicity of the design.
